Contest for UI station 1 and UI Station 2
100 ha of city forest were maintained by the University of Indonesia within its total area of 309 Ha. It has 6 beautiful lakes scattered over the Centrum area and academic areas. Offering a harmonious green jungle environment.
Reforesting was also maintained along the side of train track which will work as a barrier/divider between UI and Margonda area.
Thus, it will create a green friendly environment as well as the image if Depok city
UI Station 1 and UI station 2 is an external and internal means of transportation to and from UI area.
It is designed to blend with its surrounding, connecting to pedestrian and cycling track
The bridge connecting UI Campus area to the Satiation 2 has become a “New Main Gate” for the outsider.
URBAN LINKAGE
Both Station are connected by Jalan Margonda and Artery to leave Depok city and Jalan Lingkar Kampus toward the UI area (Picture 1)
New Pedestrian was designed to link both stations to UI area. Existing pedestrian were maintained to link UI Meeting Point to the station and will also connected to the new pedestrian. (Picture 2)
New Cycling track was designed to link the southern part of UI campus with the station, by considering the postgraduate dormitory development planning as a new activities. Existing cycling track will connect the north part of UI campus to the stations. Both stations will also linked by a new cycling track and its parking facilities. Pedestrian will also build from parking area to the UI campus (Picture 3)
Architecture Concept
Station UI 1 and Station UI 2 designed with “Movement” concept, Come - Wait - Leave activities from both destinations. The building masses were made F L U I D, to represent the dynamics of the train movement and its passenger. (Picture 5 and 6)
