Maya Sanur Resort
Located along the main street of Sanur, approximately 300
meters from Hyatt Hotel,Maya Sanur resort is designed as a sloping
hillside, where all lobby and hotel facilities are covered under mound of grass
and stone outcrops.
Cracks in the middle section marks formal entry to the
hotel.
Outdoor eating terraces planned as semi private interface
to the mainstreet.
A series of suites accomodation links the second level
lobby to the beach, some 300meter away.
Green roof protect this accomodation wing from harsh tropical sun, the
sloping roof tilts up and down, until it dips smoothly towards the beach.
The overall composition was meant to suggest a
possibility to walk up the hill, continue along tilting planes for a couple of
hundred meters before decending to the seashore. All of this above the 104
suite resort.
At grade 180meter long swimming pool provide soft barrier
to the edges of the suites, this turns into fish ponds in front of the all
dining restaurant by the beach
Large existing tree provide ample shading to the beach
bar and leisure pool.
8 beachfront suites each with individual plunge pool are
located next to the maya spa pavillions.
The building envelopes are designed to minimize heat gain
whilst allowing sea breeze to penetrate through the entire living spaces.
Recycled water is used to water the garden. Energy
efficient LED lighting will be used throughout.
Recycled and farmed teak will be used intensively.
Sands from basement excavation will be upcycled and used
as base material for non load bearing concrete blocks.
